Ozzy Osbourne Will Perform “Bits And Pieces” With Black Sabbath At Farewell Show
Ozzy Osbourne is gearing up for what might be his last show with the original Black Sabbath lineup, which is exciting, sort of. The original lineup of the group wrote some of the most important rock music of the 20th century, but it's a bummer to watch people get old. Set to hit the stage this summer in Birmingham, the show is part of the massive Back To The Beginning festival, which is going to be packed with rock legends. Alongside Black Sabbath, fans will get to see Ozzy perform some of his solo hits, plus catch performances from other heavyweights like Metallica, Slayer, Anthrax, Pantera, and Gojira.
As news trickles out about the show, Ozzy has been working overtime to manage expectations about what he’ll be able to do during his performance. He mentioned on his SiriusXM show, Ozzy’s Boneyard, that he’s not planning a full set with Black Sabbath but will chip in with some "bits and pieces." At 76 years old, he’s been dealing with health issues, including Parkinson’s disease, which has made it tough for him to commit to longer sets.
Even with the challenges he faces, Ozzy remains candid about working to get back on his feet and has noted, “I’m still actively doing things.” His wife, Sharon, recently said he’s “doing great” and highlighted how important this show is for him to say goodbye to fans and friends.
The festival just got even bigger with the addition of Guns N’ Roses, Tool, and Rival Sons, making it a can't-miss event for modern rock dudes and their very bored girlfriends. There’s also an all-star tribute being put together by Tom Morello, featuring musicians like Vernon Reid, Chad Smith, and David Ellefson. On top of it all, Jason Momoa will be hosting, which brings a specific kind of college bro vibe to the whole thing. Should be fun for people who like this kind of thing!
