What The Heck Are TV On The Radio Up To?
Hoo boy it feels like every band is either getting back together or breaking up this week. Or at the very least they’re announcing something. Bands are being weird. The Oasis brothers just got back together, Linkin Park is up to something. Sum 41 is breaking up while making announcements. Not to be left out, TV On The Radio is up to something. Today, the iconic New York indie band wiped their entire Instagram profile - that’s indie band speak for “something’s about to happen.”
As of this writing the only thing that appears on the band’s Insta is a gray square with the band name in bold black letters. No caption. No nothin’. The only thing the band is doing outside of making a cryptic social media post is asking fans to sign up for their email list. Maybe they’re starting a sub stack?
TVOTR have been quiet since the release of 2014’s Seeds, but if you’re a movie fan you’ve seen frontman Tunde Adebimpe in everything from Spider-Man: Homecoming to the Glen Power starring Twisters. In a recent interview he hinted that new music was on the way:
I can say that I just wrapped up my own record. And that will be out … in the future. And you … I can say … you might have an opportunity to buy a ticket to something related to that, or something related to TV On The Radio … in a while.
Whatever’s happening, we’re here for it.
