Oasis Reuniting in 2025 for First Concerts Since 2009
‘Ello ‘ello ‘ello, innit, etc. The iconic British rock band Oasis (or at least the two most famous members of the band’s original lineup) is officially reuniting for their first concerts since 2009. This long-awaited announcement came from a series of social media posts, including a cryptic message that read:
"The guns have fallen silent.
The stars have aligned.
The great wait is over.
Come see.
It will not be televised."
For years, the Gallagher brothers, Liam and Noel, have been at the center of public speculation and drama regarding a potential reunion. Liam has been vocal about his desire to bring the band back together, while Noel has repeatedly refused. As recently as April, Liam denied that any reunion was in the works, urging fans to move on. However, the landscape shifted over the weekend when rumors began to circulate that the siblings had reconciled and planned to perform together again.
The speculation gained momentum with identical teaser posts from Liam, Noel, and Oasis' social media accounts, pointing towards today's announcement. A similar graphic also appeared on screen ahead of Liam’s performance at the Reading Festival on Sunday, further fueling reunion rumors. Now, it's official: the Gallagher brothers will reunite under the Oasis banner for a tour in the UK and Ireland next summer, including shows at Manchester’s Heaton Park and London’s Wembley Stadium. A press release also hints at potential dates outside of Europe, with "plans underway for OASIS LIVE ’25 to go to other continents later next year."
While details about the reunion lineup remain unclear, reports suggest that only Liam and Noel will be part of the reunion, backed by Noel’s band, the High Flying Birds, rather than the original Oasis lineup. This news, reported by the tabloid The Sun, implies a significant payday for the Gallaghers, estimated at £400 million, leaving other original band members in the lurch. Co-founding guitarist Paul Arthurs, or Bonehead if you’re nasty, recently commented on one of the band's Instagram posts with heart emojis, suggesting he may be involved or at least not furious at missing out on a righteous payday.
Fans are buzzin’, eagerly anticipating the reunion tour, which promises to bring Oasis' legendary sound back to the stage for the first time in over a decade.
