Check Out David Byrne, Robyn, Devo, and More Perform at SNL 50: The Homecoming Concert

On Friday, February 14, NBC transformed New York City’s iconic Radio City Music Hall into a party for one of television’s most beloved fixtures. SNL50: The Homecoming Concert celebrated the 50th anniversary of Saturday Night Live with a dazzling three-hour live event that brought together a remarkable lineup of talent and nostalgia.

The night kicked off with a striking visual of David Byrne and Robyn, both clad in oversized gray suits, performing a mesmerizing rendition of Robyn's 2010 hit, "Dancing on My Own." The pair set the tone for a night filled with musical surprises, as the concert unfolded with a series of star-studded acts that spanned the decades of SNL's history.

One of the evening's standout segments featured Lady Gaga teaming up with Andy Samberg for a comedic twist on "Shallow" before launching into an uproarious medley of iconic Lonely Island tracks like "Dick in a Box," "Lazy Sunday," and "I Just Had Sex" alongside surprise appearances by Chris Parnell and Bad Bunny.

The concert also saw the surviving members of Nirvana join Post Malone for, hm, let's call it an unforgettable rendition of "Smells Like Teen Spirit," which was weird. Cher's powerful performance of "If I Could Turn Back Time" and Devo’s energetic rendition of "Uncontrollable Urge" brought back nostalgic vibes, while the B-52's rocked the stage with "Love Shack," accompanied by Fred Armisen, Bowen Yang, and Sarah Sherman.

Additional highlights of the evening included a mini-reunion of the Fugees, featuring Ms. Lauryn Hill and Wyclef Jean as they captivated the audience with "Killing Me Softly" and "Lost Ones." Miley Cyrus and Brittany Howard delivered a soulful rendition of "Crazy Little Thing Called Love," while Bill Murray, ever the charm, led a touching performance of "You're All I Need to Get By" alongside Maya Rudolph and Cecily Strong.

Beyond the collaborative performances, the concert also showcased solo acts, with the likes of Jack White, Snoop Dogg, Backstreet Boys, and Bonnie Raitt delivering powerful individual sets that left fans clamoring for more. The evening culminated in a stunning medley by Arcade Fire, Byrne, St. Vincent, and the Preservation Hall Jazz Band, weaving together "Heroes" and "Wake Up," creating an emotional close to a night of celebration.

The concert is available for viewing on Peacock, so you don't even need to be a member of the Five Timers Club to enjoy this once in a lifetime experience.
